Kerala to witness onset of Monsoon; will the heatwave ever abate over North India?
The Indian Meteorological Department has announced that the monsoon is likely to hit Kerala in the next 24 hours. Although Kerala has already witnessed a large amount unseasonal rainfall which is known as ‘pre-monsoon’ rain, this is significant as the official start of the 4 month long monsoon season.
This could be good news for those in North India and the hinterland as monsoons could temper the extreme heatwave in the next 20 days or so.
