Arvind Kejriwal Liquor Scam Case; SC refuses to extend interim bail

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea for 7 day extension of his interim bail, by which he was to go back to Tihar Jail on June 2. SC registry refused to accept application saying since CM was given liberty to move trial court for regular bail, the plea is not maintainable.

Kejriwal had got interim bail from Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta on May 10 and was asked to surrender to Tihar jail on June 2.

SC had refused to entertain the application since the verdict in the main petition challenging the arrest of the Delhi CM has already been reserved for order.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi representing Kejriwal emphasized that the application was solely for conducting some medical tests and not a abuse of process.
