Pune Porsche Incident: Juvenile Board Members who granted bail to the accused under scanner

The aftermath of the horrific accident that took place on the night of 19th May has been somewhat typical of the ensuing circus that follows such accidents.

A rich boy driving under the influence of alcohol without a drivers license gets into an accident that results in the death of 2 not so affluent but qualified youth. The media and all factions of the political clergy from the Maharashtra CM to aspiring PM Rahul Gandhi have commented on how this is a glaring case of economic inequality, symbolic of the evils that have come with unequal progress and the extra burdens that the ‘common man’ as the law is not equally applicable to all.

The Juvenile board had granted bail to the offender with conditions to write a 300 word essay and 15,000 rupee bond. In comparison the car being driven the accused was worth 25 million rupees.

The public outrage the followed has caused a number of backtracks and the local police have made noises that they wish to try the offender as an adult. What has been uncovered is extremely shocking, as there were procedural errors on the night of the incident, followed by a intentional mix up in the blood test samples and changing witness testimonies.

Whats more the Juvenile board members elected by the Maharashtra state government are now under scrutiny as to how they arrived at this course of action. The report will be submitted next week said Prashant Narnawre, Women and Child Protection Commissioner.
